To define a custom access-denied page for a folder
-
Create a new web page or edit an existing page with the content you want (for instance, specifying that the content the visitor is trying to access is restricted to a certain constituent group). Make sure the page is in a folder with unrestricted access.
-
Publish the page.
-
In Website Explorer, navigate to the folder for which you are selecting the custom access-denied page.
-
Select the folder and click Folder Properties on the Website Explorer toolbar. The Folder Properties pane appears.
-
Click Edit in the Properties area. The Edit Folder Properties dialog appears.
-
Click Browse under Choose a custom access-denied page for a folder. The Website Explorer dialog opens to the Browse tab.
-
Browse to the new page you created. Make sure you are selecting a live published page.
-
Click Select, then Save. In the Properties area, the Access-Denied Page field now displays the URL of the selected custom access-denied page. (If you select an unpublished draft, the field value is null.)
