Edit Folder Properties Fields

Field Description
Enter a title for the folder Folder title, such as 2007 Campaigns.
Enter a URL for the folder

(Not available for a site's root or home folder, whose URL is the site's host name.)

Folder name when used in hyperlinks, such as 2007-campaigns.

URLs in this application are case-sensitive. If you change any segment of a URL, such as the folder URL name, hard-coded links or external links to the location will break. (System-created links to the location, like those created with the Insert Hyperlink tool in the HTML Editor, will update automatically.)

Assign a default wrapper to the folder

Leave the menu set to Inherit wrapper from parent folder to apply the parent folder's default wrapper to all items within this folder. Or select a different wrapper as this folder's default. The menu lists all live CMS wrappers for this site.

When editing an individual Web page, authors may have the option of assigning a wrapper other than the folder (or site-wide) default to the page, if the Website Administrator has added a wrapper-selection menu to the associated content type's Properties step.

Create a separate navigation menu for this folder and its children

(Not available for root folder.)

Select to generate a navigation menu for the folder other than the default navigation menu inherited from its parent folder.

Choose a custom sign-in/access-denied page for this folder

(Optional, for folders with restricted read-access.)

Click Browse to select an existing published page on your site to display to site visitors who try to access this folder's contents but do not have read-access. If you do not select a page, the site's generic or default sign-in or access-denied page will display.

Make sure to publish your custom page first. Always publish and select a page in a folder with unrestricted access! Do not select a page in this or any other restricted folder.
