To insert a rich text field

The Rich Text element adds a WYSIWYG editor to the Author Entry Form. This offers site authors more options for editing and formatting text within a field. The rich text element is not available for Comment content types or public-facing forms.

The Rich Text Field is only available for Author Entry Forms.

  1. In the Form Console, click Rich Text. The Rich Text Properties dialog displays.

  2. Enter the following:

    • Label: Enter a name for the text box and press Tab.

    • Name: Select Custom. Only select the other options, such as Title and Description, if you have deleted any of these fields. These are required fields and there can only be one of each in a form.

    • Initial Value: Enter text, if any, that you want displayed automatically.

    • Height: The height of the Text Box as displayed on the page.

    • Width: The width of the text field on the page. This value does not restrict the total number of characters that can be entered (configurable in the Length field, up to the standard maximum of 4000). Users can press the left or right arrow keys to scroll through a long text string.

    • Toolbar: Select the number of rows of options available in the toolbar - Basic Options adds 1 row to the toolbar, More Options adds 2 rows to the toolbar, and Most Options adds 3 rows to the Toolbar.

    • Required Field: Select to make the Text Box a required field.

  3. Click OK. The Rich Text editor displays in the WYSIWYG content editor.
