RSS Feed Display Component Dialog Fields

To open the RSS Feed Display dialog, insert the RSS Feed Display component into a Web page, a display template, or a wrapper. The RSS Feed Display dialog includes the following fields.

Field Description
Enter the URL of the RSS feed to display

Enter the URL of the external RSS feed you want to display. To display an RSS feed from another host within the same hostgroup as the current site, enter the full URL as usual.

Choose a display template to merge with the RSS feed

From the drop-down menu, select a display template to "merge" with the feed. The display template for an RSS feed primarily controls which fields from the feed will display on a live Web page on your site.

Note: Display templates are listed alphabetically by name. The initial default selection is simply the first template listed.

The display template you select must correspond to the format of the external feed. For example, if the feed is "version 2.0" (RSS2), choose a display template with "RSS2" or "RSS Version 2.0" in its name. (To verify the format of an external feed, view the source HTML code of its page.) Your Website Administrator may also have created unique display templates for specific RSS feeds. For example, if your organization regularly displays RSS feeds from Yahoo News, there may be a "Yahoo RSS News Display Template" that includes fields unique to a Yahoo News RSS feed.

If you have questions about available display templates and which one to select, contact your Website Administrator.
