An inserted RSS Feed Display component must use a display template compatible with the format of the selected feed. For instance, the XML format differs between the index.xml and ATOM feeds. If an Author inserts the component and enters the URL for an ATOM-formatted feed, the display template she selects to "merge" with the feed must be compatible with the ATOM format.
