To design the Add Comment submission form
In this procedure (part of editing the Comment content type), you design the Add Comment submission form that site visitors will use to submit comments. This is essentially the equivalent of a Properties step (author entry form) in any other content type.
-
Click Edit in the Fields area of the Comment content type administration page. The Edit Entry Form page displays.
-
Use the editor to customize the design of the form that site visitors will use to submit comments.
-
To add a custom field to the submission form, follow the instructions in the topic Inserting Form Elements in a Content Type Properties Step. For instance, you may wish to add a Subject line or a content-category menu. The values entered by site visitors in a custom field can be for internal use only, or you can add the field to a Comment list template so that they display on the live Web page for each listed comment. (It is recommended that you create a new list template for this purpose.)
-
When you are done, click Save. If you receive an error message, make sure you have not deleted a required element. Just use the Undo arrow button to reverse changes.
