Interests
Interests are topics or categories by which you can group your constituents. Using interests allows your constituents to have a more personalized experience when visiting your site or receive emails that are of interest to them.
Registered users can access interests from their Personal Profile pages and choose whether they want to see or receive content on each topic. You can direct content to those who want it and avoid presenting material to those who do not.
With interests, you can:
Target your email communications with email interests. Build separate email campaigns for each interest so your constituents can opt-in or out of communications on the topic. Without granular categories of interests, constituents may be left with no choice but to opt out of all communications from your site.
Associate web interests with news articles, photo albums, calendar events, TeamRaisers, and surveys. Logged-in users then see web content associated with specific interest categories and can control areas of interest that they want to see.
Associate web interests with products so you can cross-sell. Constituents who purchase the products will be marked with those interests, which is useful for further communication.
Add an interest-based conditional to web or email content so that only those who indicated an interest in a topic see that content—while providing alternate content for those who are not interested in that topic.
For each interest, create an opt-in and opt-out group. These groups display in the Groups application and are automatically populated as registered users opt-in and opt-out of the interest.
