Add a Vote Info Component
If you are using the Advocacy Vote Center, the Vote Info Component lets you place information on a page (or in an email) that relates to a specific vote position. With this component you can place such items as the Vote Title, the Vote Description, the Vote Date, and the Vote Result. You might use this information as a summary on a campaign page or on your home page and then direct constituents to follow a link to more information.
Note: The Advocacy Component is not available outside the Vote Center until you have at least one vote position configured and published – since the information is specific to a vote.
To add a Vote Info Component to a PageBuilder page:
-
Create and publish at least one Vote Position using the Advocacy Vote Center.
-
Access the WYSIWYG content editor window for a page or an email.
-
Position the cursor where you would like to place the component.
-
Click Advocacy > Vote Info.
-
Select the appropriate vote. The Embedded Component Selector for Vote Info window opens.
-
Choose one:
-
Vote Title – the title you provided for this vote
-
Roll Call Number – the roll call number associated with this vote; the number will be placed without a label, so you may want to add one
-
Vote Description – the user-friendly description that you created when configuring your position
-
Roll Call Description – the original roll-call description from the opening page of the Vote Center
-
Vote Date – date on which this vote occurred; the date is placed without a label so you may want to add one
-
Congress and Session – the Congress and Session numbers associated with this vote
-
Vote Result – whether the vote passed or failed and the total Yeas and Nays
-
Vote Tally – a more complete summary of the vote that includes the roll call number, the number of votes for, the number of votes against, and the number not voting
-
Organization’s Position – the position your organization has taken on this vote; for example, “We would have preferred legislators to have voted Yea.”
-
Click Insert to return to the WYSIWYG content editor window.
-
Save and then Preview your page.
-
Publish and test the page.
