Add a YouTube Video

With the YouTube Video component, you can easily embed a video into any website.

Warning: You can add multiple videos to a single page but you should not add videos to secure pages because the videos are served directly through YouTube.

To add a YouTube Component to a Page:

  1. Access the WYSIWYG content editor window.

  2. Add introductory text, if desired.

  3. Place the cursor where you want to insert the video.

  4. Click Gear icon, Components.

  5. Click the second Extensions option > YouTube Video. The YouTube Embedded Component selector window opens.

  6. Review the YouTube Terms of Use. Close the Terms of Use window when finished.

  7. Locate a video to embed:

    1. Enter a Keyword(s) or Author(s) or both to conduct a search.

Note: Searches using multiple criteria, such as a keyword and an author, will only return videos with metadata that include the keyword AND have an exact match on the author. For example, entering Michael Jordan returns videos of "Michael Jordan" rather than Michael or Jordan.

    2. Click Search YouTube.

    3. Review the list of videos that appear and locate the video you wish to embed.

    4. Drag your selection into the drop zone on your left. The video will begin to play.

    5. To use a different video, drag it over the existing video.

  8. Configure Additional Options, if desired:

    1. Click more options...

    2. Check AutoPlay Video if you want the video to automatically begin playing when the page is loaded.

Warning: Never use this option for multiple videos on a page.

    3. Deselect Hide Related Videos if you do not wish to have related videos appear once the video has completed playing.

    4. Enter new Height and Width dimensions if desired.

Note: YouTube only supports certain video sizes.

  9. Click Insert to place the video on your page.

Warning: You cannot edit this component once you have placed it. If you need to make a change, you will need to remove the component and place a new one.

  10. Save changes.
