Understand Tell-A-Friend Opt-Out
Tell-A-Friend emails now have an embedded opt-out link. Recipients who click that link will not receive further related emails sent on behalf of your organization. This feature cannot be disabled or hidden. The link and its functionality are required by federal law. Luminate Online can, at a client's request, modify the text of the opt-out message.
Note: The Tell-A-Friend Opt-Out link only determines whether or not an email address receives Tell-A-Friend messages from an organization. This feature does not change how a constituent’s profile registers the messages to which they are subscribed.
The core features of the Tell-A-Friend Opt-Out are:
-
Link in Tell-A-Friend Messages -- Tell-A-Friend emails include a link that recipients can click to opt out of future similar messages.
-
Reverse Opt-out Link -- Recipients who opt out can click a link in the confirmation page and opt back in to future messages.
-
Suppression list -- Luminate Online maintains an organization-specific list of opted-out email addresses.
