Prepare a Group Assignment Upload File
The Group Assignment Upload file must be a comma separated values (CSV) file that contains the primary email address or Member ID of each constituent who will be a member of the group.
-
If you choose to include the EXT_GROUP_ID field in the file, the CSV file must also contain the Constituent360 Group ID of the group to which the members will be assigned or a foreign group ID that has been cross-referenced to a Constituent360 Group ID. You can include more than one group ID in each Group Assignment Upload file (for example, you could assign some constituents to group #102 and other constituents to group #12 in the same upload file).
-
If you choose to include the GROUP_NAME field in the file, the CSV file must also contain the Name of the Group to which you would like to assign each constituent. You can include more than one Group Name in each Group Assignment Upload file. For example, you could assign some constituents to the Testing Group and some constituents to the Environment Group.
Each primary email or Member ID listed in the upload file must be for a constituent that already exists in the Constituent360 database. If you are not sure if members are already in your database, add them using the Constituent Data Upload operation before performing this upload. You can include a Luminate Online Group ID field in the Constituent Data Upload CSV file often eliminating the need for a separate Group Assignment Upload operation.
You can create a Group Upload file in any application that produces a CSV file or download our sample file and modify it with your own data.
Tip: It is recommended that your file not exceed 75,000 records.
