Use the Duplicates Task Results Group

If the task returned results, the resulting task results group list will display in the To Do List and you can perform various actions to resolve the duplicates.

To use the results of your task

  1. From the To Do List page, locate the appropriate task results group in the To Do List and click the name link.

  2. To:

    • Display a contact’s profile, click the View icon. The system will open the profile in the Contacts application (and then click the Back button on your Web browser to return to the Tasks application).

    • Remove this person from the group of profiles shown, click the Remove icon. The system removes the record from this group (but not from the Constituent360 database).

    • Send an email message to the person (for example, to request additional information), click the email address link in the Email column.

    • Compare potential duplicate profile information side-by-side:

      1. Click the Compare icon.

      2. On the Compare Duplicate Records page, look over the information presented and then, at the top of the appropriate record, click the Select this record radio button to set it as the Master Record.

        Note: You can click the View icon (located at the top of each record) to display the original contact profile, and then click the Back button to return to this page.

      3. Click the Next Step button. The Master Record and the Duplicate Records display side by side.

      4. To release a record that is not a duplicate (that is, the contacts are different):

        1. Click the Mark as Not a Duplicate icon at the top of the column.

        2. On the Not a Duplicate confirmation page, click the Confirm button. The system removes the record from view.

      5. To merge the information from a Duplicate Record into the Master Record:

        1. Click the Merge icon.

        2. On the Merge Duplicates page, to replace the information in the Master Merged Record with the information shown in the Duplicate Record, click the checkbox next to the information in the Duplicate Record.

      6. When you have finished transferring information, click the Save button. The system will merge the information and delete the Duplicate Record before displaying the next Duplicate Record.

        Note: If no additional Duplicate Records are found, the system displays the To Do Detail page again so you can resolve the next set of potential duplicates.

      7. When you are finished working with the duplicates, click the Done button. This page closes and the To Do List page opens again.

You can use any remaining contacts (those whose profiles you did not merge or remove) in the task results group list for other functions, such as sending them an email message to request more information. The name you provided when you created the task will be displayed as the group name in the Task Results folder in the Groups application.
