Create a Duplicate Finder (Center Level) Task

You can create your center-level duplicate finder task by specifying that you want matches on the same email address, name, address, or combinations of those criteria. You can also specify that you want to search without matching on the email address or name and address. If you think the duplicate profiles may occur because of variations on a name (such as Beth instead of Elizabeth or Ben instead of Benjamin and Bennet), you can search for a Similar Name.

To create a new Duplicate Finder (Center-Level) Task

  1. From the Tasks To Do List page, click the Task List tab. The Task List page opens.

  2. On the Task List page, click the Create a New Task link. The Task Types page opens with the available list of task types displayed.

  3. On the Task Types page, click the Duplicate Finder (Center Level) task.

  4. On the Task Information page that opens, for:

    1. Name, type a descriptive label that may help other administrators identify the purpose of this task when looking in the Task List. This name will also identify the results group (if any) in the To Do List and in the User Group List (in the Groups application).

    2. Description, type in a short description to help other administrators identify the purpose of this task when looking in the Task List.

    3. Search duplicates, by E-mail:

      • Leave the Same E-Mail Address radio button selected.

      • Or, click the Don’t match on E-mail Address radio button.

    4. Search duplicates, by Other Criteria:

      • Leave the Don’t match on Name/Address radio button selected.

      • Or, click the Same Name radio button.

      • Or, click the Same Name and Address radio button.

      • Or, click the Similar Name radio button.

      • Or, click the Same Address radio button.

  5. For Security Category, use the drop-down menu to select the security category of the Center for which you want to locate possible duplicates. (Note that if you are creating this task while operating within a single Center, you will only have the option of choosing the security category associated with that Center. If you are in All Centers mode, you will have additional choices.)

  6. Click the Save button. This page closes and the Task List page opens again with your new task in the Task List.
