Customize a Tell-A-Friend Message and Link in Donations Classic

Donation websites include a Tell-A-Friend link that lets users share your cause via email. When clicked, a form appears where users enter their name, email, and recipient addresses. The form includes a subject line, message body, and a link to your donation form.

You can customize the subject and message to better reflect your cause and encourage donations. You can also choose whether users can edit the message before sending.

The link is usually an image in the page wrapper, but you can change it to a text link and update the wording. For example, “Tell someone about our cause.”

If you don’t make changes, the system uses the default image and message. You can revert to the original settings anytime by selecting Use Default Content on the configuration page.
