To create a designee
From the options along the top of an Administrator page, click Fundraising > Donation Management.
From the tabs along the top of the Online Giving page, click the Designated Giving tab.
On the Designee list page, click:
Create New Designee to create the designee from a blank form
Copy from the Action column of an existing designee to use as a model.
On the Identify Designee page:
For Administrative Name, enter a meaningful label that names the entity or describes its purpose.
For Public Name, enter the label to display to donors for this designee.(Note: It can be the same as the Administrative Name.)
For Designation Type, click the:
Appropriate option from the first drop-down list to use an existing option
Second option and enter the name that describes the new type.
For Admin Security Category, select the option to define who can modify this designee.
For Accounting Code, optionally enter string of letters and numbers that identifies this designee in your accounting books.
Click Next.
On the Specify Interest and Notifications page:
For Designee Interest Category, optionally select an option from the Interest Category drop-down list to assign this web content interest to the donors who give to this designee.
To have the system send you (or another staff member or volunteer) an email each time a donor chooses this designee and gives a certain gift amount:
For Gift Notification, click the Yes checkbox to display the options to configure the notification threshold, group, and email addresses.
For Gift Amount, enter the monetary amount that will trigger this notification. (Entering the lowest amount, like 1, will always trigger it.)
For Gift Group, to assign donors to:
An existing group:
Click the Select button.
From the pop-up, click Add constituents to an existing group.
Locate the group in the list that displays and click Select from its Action column.
Click Apply.
A new group:
Click the Select button.
From the pop-up, click Add constituents to a new Group.
For Group Name, enter a label that describes the purpose of this group (like DonorsForDesigneeName).
For Group Type, select an existing type from the drop-down list, or click the other option button and enter a label for the New Group Type.
For Group Description, enter a phrase that describes the purpose of the group in the group lists viewed by administrators.
For Group Security Mode, optionally select the appropriate option from the list. (For example, make this a user security group in order to let only certain staff view this notification group.)
Click Apply.
For Email Notification, enter the email address of the recipient of this notification. You can enter multiple addresses separated with semi-colons or placed on separate lines.
Click Next.
In the text editing area on the HTML Description page, enter a brief statement about the designee to display to donors.
Use the WYSIWYG to format text size and color. You can also add a small image, but remember that there is limited space for display on the donation form.
Tip: Best Practices: Avoid inserting links because it leads donors away from the donation form.
Select Finish to save your designee information.
