Add a recurring gift "terms and acceptance" element to a donation form

Display terms and acceptance of a recurring gift subscription to your donor so you can meet credit card guidelines.

Tip: If you use Blackbaud Checkout, you automatically get updated language.

Add the Recurring Gift Terms Acceptance data element to active donation forms that accept recurring gifts. The element is available following the Luminate Online 22.5.2 release and ensures compliance with Mastercard recurring card payment requirements.

The Recurring Gift Terms Acceptance data element works on both single- and multi-page donation forms in standard or responsive layouts.

The element displays the following text to donors:

“By completing this step, you authorize the storing of this card account for a payment of [AMOUNT] every [SCHEDULE] for [DURATION].”

Dynamic updates fill in the AMOUNT, SCHEDULE (such as monthly or quarterly), and DURATION (such as forever or number of billings).

To add the Recurring Gift Terms Acceptance data element, complete these steps:

  1. Go to Fundraising > Donation Management.

  2. On the Campaign List page, select Manage from the Actions column of the appropriate campaign.

  3. On the Donation Form List page, select Edit from the Actions column of the appropriate donation form.

  4. From the options along the left, select Design Donor Screens.

  5. Add and position the Recurring Gift Terms Acceptance data element onto your donation form.

  6. (Optional) Customize the CSS. See Add custom styles to the donation form .

  7. Verify your form.

  8. From options on the left, select Validate.

  9. Select Validate.

  10. If an error message occurs, return to the problem area and make corrections.

  11. Repeat the validation steps again.

  12. When the form is valid, select Next to save your changes.
