Change Flat Shipping Charge to Tiered Shipping Charge
You can change from a flat shipping charge to charging different shipping fees based on the number of items that a shopper purchases or the amount of purchases.
To change from a flat shipping charge system to a tiered model
On the Store List page, click Edit from the Actions column of the store. The Store Administration page displays.
Note: If you are not on the Store List page, from the navigation bar, click Fundraising and then click eCommerce from the drop-down list displayed. From the Products List page that displays, click the Stores tab.
In the side navigation, click the Shipping Options step. The Shipping Options page displays.
To change to the tiered model where different amounts are applied to the order based on the:
Number of items that the shopper purchases:
Click Tiered shipping charge based on number of items. A table for building the tier information displays on the page.
In the For purchases with this many items, enter the starting number of the products to include within the first shipping charge tier (typically, 1).
In the To this many items field, enter the ending number of the products to include in this shipping charge tier (for example, 5).
In the The shipping charge is this field, enter the monetary amount to charge for the number of items in this tier.
In the Plus this much for each item field, enter the monetary amount to add for each item (for example, to cover costs for shipping to additional addresses).
To define the next tier, enter the starting number of the products to include in the second shipping charge tier (for example, 6) and repeat steps 3, 4, and 5. Repeat this step for each shipping charge tier you want to define.
Note: (a) Leave the ending number of items for the last tier blank to indicate that it is the upper limit.
(b) Do not leave any gaps in the number of products between the tiers.
Or, how much money the shopper spends:
Click Tiered shipping charge based on purchase amount. A table for building the tier information displays on the page.
In the For purchases with this amount, enter the starting monetary amount to include within the first shipping charge tier (for example, 0).
In the To this amount field, enter the last monetary amount that qualifies for this shipping charge tier.
In the The shipping charge is this field, enter the monetary amount to charge for this purchase amount.
In the Plus this percent of the purchase field, enter the percent of the product order amount to add for each item (for example, to cover costs for shipping to additional addresses).
To define the next tier, enter the starting purchase amount to include in the second shipping charge tier and repeat steps 3, 4, and 5. Repeat this step for each shipping charge tier you want to define.
Note: (a) Leave the ending monetary amount in the last tier blank to indicate that it is the upper limit.
(b) Do not leave any gaps in amounts between the tiers.
For Standard Shipping Charge per Additional Address, enter the amount to add to the Standard Shipping Charge for shoppers who want to split their purchases between multiple addresses.
If the store offers Express Shipping, in the Express Shipping Charge per Additional Address field, enter the amount to add to the per Order charge for each additional shipping address where product will be sent if relevant.
