Understand Personal Fundraising
Constituents can support your mission by creating special fund donation pages on your website, encouraging their friends and family to make monetary gifts. These donation pages are part of Personal Fundraising Campaigns, which include donation or online giving forms to collect credit card gifts.
You can designate that constituents create:
Honorary Fund: To honor a loved one by name, with email notifications sent to the constituent when gifts are made.
Memorial Fund: To pay tribute to a loved one who has passed away, with a designated next of kin receiving email notifications when gifts are made.
Personal Fund: To acknowledge a personal commitment to your mission.
You can enable all fund types in one campaign or set up your campaign for a specific fund type. Alternatively, you can create multiple campaigns, each dedicated to a specific fund type, ensuring the appropriate text and messaging are displayed to the creators of each fund type.
Once their funds are created, fund champions have access to the Champion Center, where they can personalize their fund page to share their story about their loved one or their involvement in the cause. You have access to these fund pages to edit or disable them if there are complaints about objectionable material. You can also edit the Guest Book instructions and delete entries on behalf of the fund champions.
Champions can create photo albums and provide links to them from their page. By default, a Guest Book displays for visitors to leave notes. Champions can turn off the Guest Book or customize the instructions for visitors. They can also delete any inappropriate entries. To prevent unauthorized software applications (like SPAM-bots) from accessing the Guest Book, enable the CAPTCHA site option to verify that visitors are human.
The Champion Center includes tools for sending emails to family and friends to appeal for donations and monitoring the progress of the funds raised.
Tip: Although Personal Fundraising is designed for constituents to create and manage funds themselves, you can also create funds on their behalf and perform administrative tasks, such as editing the funds.
