To create a new syndication channel

  1. Select Constituent360 on the navigation bar and then click Interests in the drop-down menu that displays. This action opens the Interest Categories List page.

  2. Click the link at the top of the page to Create a New Channel Category.

  3. On the New Channel Category info page, provide a Name for the new Channel. For example, you might name the Channel "Health." This name will be visible to you when you are assigning pages to a channel for syndication; it will also be visible to administrators on sites that choose to import your content.

  4. Enter a Description for the new Channel. For example, you might say, "All health-related content for export." This description will only appear on your administrative list page.

  5. Select a Security Category for the Channel. The Security Category determines which administrators can see this channel and use it.

  6. Select a Parent Interest
    • Select Top Level if this will serve as a first-level channel.

    • Select the name of another Channel if this will be a secondary channel (that is, a second- or third-level channel if you are building a hierarchy). For example, you may choose to further divide the Health channel into Patient Information and Health Legislation.

Note: Creating a hierarchical structure for Channels is simply a convenience for you. Sites that import your content will see a flat list of all channels you create.

  1. Click Save. The screen will refresh and indicate that you have successfully saved your new Channel. You can now assign PageBuilder pages to this Channel Category when making them available for syndication.

  2. Click Add Another Channel and repeat this process, or go on to the next section that discusses how to use the new channel when designating pages for syndication. Channel Categories appear in the Interest Categories list marked with the Channel Interest Icon symbol.

Note: Channel Categories can be edited and deleted in the same way that Interest Categories can. See the Interests documentation for more information.
