Delete a File from the Document Library

You can delete a single file or delete all versions of a file from the Document Library.

Note: To avoid broken links, update active links to a file in your site pages or email messages before you delete the file from the library.

To delete one version of a file

  1. Locate the file in the Document List and click Name.

  2. Locate the file in the Version List and click Delete in the Actions column.

  3. Click OK to remove the file from the Version List.

To delete all versions of a file

  1. Locate the file in the Document List and click Delete in the Actions column.

  2. Click OK to remove all versions of the file from the Document List.
