Understanding Email Report Select-Through Numbers

A select-through is a select, by a recipient, on a link that is contained in an email message. The various email reports provide different information on these select-throughs. The following table provides a summary of the type of information you can gain from each report. The table is followed by a more detailed explanation and examples of each report.

Delivery Review Page

Provides the following two select-through statistics:

  • Recipient Select-Throughs - the number and percentage of recipients who selected at least one link in the message that was delivered

  • Total Select-Throughs - the total number of times that any recipient of that delivery selected any link in the message; multiple selects on the same link are counted

Statistics for that delivery only
Message Performance Report

Provides the following statistic:

Select-Throughs - the number and percentage of recipients who selected at least one link in the message that was delivered (same as the Recipient Select-Throughs discussed above - except that this report includes all deliveries of the message.)

Includes statistics for all deliveries of the message
Select-Through Summary ReportLists each link in a message and shows the number of recipients who selected that link at least once (multiple selects on the same link are not counted).Includes statistics for all deliveries of the message
Select-Through Details ReportLists all the select-throughs counted in the Select-Through Summary Report. Provides one row for each link selected by each recipient of the message (multiple selects on the same link are not counted); recipients are identified by name. Includes statistics for all deliveries of the message
