If a Sharing Opportunity link with social site icons (like Facebook Logo Facebook or LinkedIn Logo LinkedIn) displays on a page in this site, you can quickly and easily post a comment on your favorite social sites about the activity associated with it. The post (or, tweet) will contain a link back to an appropriate page on this site where your friends can pursue the activity (for example, make a donation, join your fundraising team, or take a political action alert).

If the Social Tell-a-Friend Icon Social Tell-A-Friend Email Icon displays in the link, you can click that icon to send an email about the activity. The email message also contains a link back to an appropriate page on the site.

Note: You do not have to be logged in to use a Sharing Opportunity.

To determine if you can link one of your social site accounts with your account on our site, log off if you are logged in. If the option to log in using a social site (like AOL, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, or Yahoo!) is displayed, you can connect the social account to your account on this site and log in with same User Name and Password combination that you use on that social site.

You can connect several of your social accounts to your account on this site so that you can log into the account you prefer each time you log in.

Note: The connection between accounts is established and provided in a secure manner by an outside resource named Gigya. This is a social network connection provider that works behind the scenes to make safe, secure connections between user accounts on different systems, such as popular social media web sites like Facebook and web sites like ours where you are actively involved in social issues and causes. Note that neither your User Name or Password is stored by Gigya.

Select Log In using one of your preferred sites. Select the icon for social media platform (e.g., for Facebook or for LinkedIn).

  1. Select the AOL Icon.

  2. Enter your AOL screen name.

  3. If the verification page with a password field displays, enter your password and select Continue.

  4. After carefully reading through the information, select each piece of information that you want to share with us from your AOL account. Select Send.

  5. After carefully reading through the information, enter the appropriate information in any blank fields and select Register.

  1. Select the Twitter or X Icon.

  2. Enter your X credentials, and select Sign in.

  3. After carefully reading through the information, enter the appropriate information in any blank fields and select Register.

  1. Select the Yahoo! Icon.

  2. Enter your Yahoo! credentials, and select Sign in.

  3. After carefully reading through the information, Agree to the terms and conditions.

  1. Select the icon of the social media platform on which you want to post this Sharing Opportunity (for example, (Facebook icon) or (LinkedIn icon).

  2. Enter a phrase or statement about the opportunity that lets your friends know the activity and how you are participating. For example, Join my fundraising team as we raise money to cure cancer in this race or Please make a donation to this very worthy cause like I have!

    Tip: Sometimes, the Comment field may contain default text. You can either keep this text, add to it, or delete it and enter your own.

  3. Select Share.

    If you:

    • Previously linked the selected social account to your account on our site and are logged in, the post will automatically be displayed on the appropriate area of your social site page.

    • Opened and logged into the social site in another tab of your web browser, the post will automatically be displayed on the appropriate area of your social site page.

    • Have not linked your accounts or logged into either account in your web browser session, a series of pop-ups may display with prompts for information in order to log in and correctly post the comment on the appropriate area of your social site page.
