Permissions to connect applications
In the Blackbaud Marketplace, one of the enhanced security measures to protect your solutions is that only users with Marketplace permissions can connect and disconnect applications, and approve scope changes. This enables your organization to decide who has the decision-making powers over which applications are trusted and important for your organization to use.
Connecting an application, however is just one step in the process. First, it's important to get to know the application and application provider and ensure the relationship would be a positive one for your organization. Then, after you connect an application, the partner and its Marketplace application cannot access your Blackbaud data until you give it permission. Permission is granted on a per user basis and respects the security rights of the user who provides consent. For example, one way to have control over what the Marketplace connected application can access in your data is to create a user with your designated, limited security rights in a Blackbaud solution and have that user provide consent.
Assign Marketplace permissions
Organization admins have the ability to assign granular permissions to enable any user to manage SKY applications in the Marketplace. They can decide who gets to connect and disconnect applications, and who can approve scope changes. They can also create a Marketplace User management role. This role gives users the ability to add additional users to manage applications.
Marketplace roles can be created and assigned in one of the following places:

From the Admin Console, select Security to access Security roles and User management.

From your Blackbaud product, navigate to Control Panel, Security to access Security roles and User management.
Tip: If you have multiple products in your Blackbaud environment, you can set up and assign these permissions from any one of them. You don’t have to set them up in each one.
On the Security roles page, under Marketplace roles, you can review the existing Marketplace admin role or create your own.
Once you have reviewed the Marketplace admin role or set up your own, you need to assign users this role.

From Security, select User management .

Search for and find the user you want to have Marketplace permissions.

Select the menu in the user's row and then select Manage roles.

Select Marketplace.

Select the appropriate role for the user. If you select Make solution admin, they receive all Marketplace roles.

Select Save.
Organization admins
By default, organization admins have the Marketplace permissions included in their role. If you don't see the new permissions, contact your organization admin to get it resolved.
To view your Blackbaud organization admins, from the User Profile page , on the My Organizations tile, select the menu for your environment, and then select View organization contacts.
