Manage Multi-Factor Authentication
You can manage your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings in your Blackbaud ID account. This includes your preferred authentication method and recovery code.
Note: Updating your MFA method in your Blackbaud ID account applies to all Blackbaud products tied to this account, including Blackbaud Verified Network.
-
Navigate to your Blackbaud ID profile at app.blackbaud.com.
-
Locate the tile for Multi-factor authentication.
-
In your Blackbaud ID user profile, click on the pencil icon to edit.
-
In the Edit multi-factor authentication screen, select Manage. You can take any of the following actions:
Change your MFA setup
This allows you to reset how you receive confirmation codes. You can use either a mobile authenticator app or SMS text messages.
Note: SMS text messaging and recovery phone options are only available if your Blackbaud ID account is affiliated with an organization. If you're an administrator in Blackbaud Verified Network, your account is already affiliated. If you're not yet an administrator, become a nonprofit administrator to unlock these features. For more about managing your nonprofit profile, see Manage your nonprofit profile.
-
Select Change setup from the Manage options.
-
Click on the Change setup button to continue.
-
You'll be redirected to the Set up multi-factor authentication page to reset your MFA method.
Generate a new recovery code
This replaces your current 24-digit recovery code. Use this code if you lose your device or can't receive text messages.
-
Select New recovery code from the Manage options.
-
Click on the Reset button to generate a new code.
Add or update recovery phone number
A recovery phone number provides a backup method to confirm your identity and access your account. This is especially useful if you're using a mobile authenticator app.
Note: Recovery phone options are only available if your Blackbaud ID account is affiliated with an organization. If you're an administrator in Blackbaud Verified Network, your account is already affiliated. If you're not yet an administrator, become a nonprofit administrator to unlock this feature.
-
Select Add or Update recovery phone from the Manage options.
-
Enter your recovery phone number and click Save.
