What roles are available for YourCause Administrators?

YourCause Administrators, NPOconnect Support, and other internal users within the YourCause platform have the following roles available to them. These include both standalone roles and additional roles that allow for specialty permissions like those for requesting check reissues.

Standalone roles

Role Description Can users impersonate nonprofits?
YC Support

This role allows an internal user to impersonate a nonprofit. All permissions of an NPO Manager are granted to them with the following additions:

  • Manage nonprofit notes

  • Approve Administrator Requests

  • Run various reports

YC Admin

This role provides all permissions of the YC Support role with the exception that they will have all permissions granted to an NPO Administrator (except submission of ACH data) when impersonating a nonprofit.

YC Reporting This role provides access to the Reporting area only. Users can run reports and search for nonprofits but cannot perform any other actions. No
Implementation Manager

This role only has access to the Implementation area which includes the following functionality:

  • Charity Compare tool

  • Nonprofit Search (no ability to impersonate a nonprofit)

  • Run various reports

Compliance Admin

This role only has access to the Compliance area which includes the following functionality:

  • Disbursement Address change request review and approval

  • ACH data change request review and approval

  • Review and clear nonprofit screening flags

  • Nonprofit Search with the ability to set Disbursement Suspended flag for a nonprofit and view the current banking document submitted by a nonprofit

Additional roles

Note: These roles must be combined with either the YC Support or YC Admin standalone roles. Users will have the ability to impersonate a nonprofit because of these base roles.

Additional Role Description
Platform Admin

This additional role allows YC Support and YC Admin users access to the Platform Admin area which includes the following functionality:

  • Ability to create release notes

  • Ability to add or remove other YC Admin and YC Support users

  • Ability to view documents required by workflow

  • Ability to create and send nonprofit communications (Ad Hoc emails)

YC Nonprofit ACH Manager This additional role allows YC Support and YC Admin users to submit or edit ACH data.
Check Reissue This additional role allows YC Support and YC Admin users to request a check reissue when impersonating a nonprofit.
