Attachments

Attachments let you store and share important files — like images, PDFs, Word documents, and spreadsheets — directly within records in Raiser’s Edge NXT. Whether you're uploading a saved file or linking to one online, attachments help keep relevant content organized and accessible across constituent, gift, event, and other record types.

Note: To allow people at your organization to add and use attachments, assign attachment permissions as described in Attachments Security. Be aware that attachments added in web view don't appear in database view.

Add an attachment to a record

  1. Open a record, and in the Attachments tile, select Add.

  2. Choose to either:

    • Upload a saved file (e.g., image, scanned PDF, Word doc) to the record of a constituent, action, gift, event, opportunity, campaign, fund, or appeal - Drag the file into the upload area or select the box to browse for it. Notes:

      • Attachment file size is limited to 100 MB, but there's no limit to the number of attachments you can add.

      • During virus scanning during upload, the file details can't be edited. Files flagged as unsafe are blocked from upload. Delete the file from your device and contact your admin.

      • We recommend you save files as attachments in web view instead of database view. See What happens when I upload an attachment in database view?

    • Link to an online file (e.g., cloud storage, blog post, YouTube video) to the record of a constituent, action, gift, event, opportunity, campaign, fund, or appeal - Under Link to a file, enter the file’s web address and select Done.

  3. Enter a name and date.

  4. Optionally add a description and tags for easier categorization and search.

  5. Select Save.
