Action Insights
To help ease common analysis of tasks and interactions, Raiser's Edge NXT provides several action insights out-of-the-box in Analysis, Report builder.
-
To view an insight in Insights, select Open, and search by its name or select it under all.
-
To add an insight to a dashboard in Dashboards, search by its name under Saved insights and move it to the dashboard.
Tip: When you search for an insight, those provided out-of-the-box appear with a lock. To save any additional filters or other changes to a default insight, select Save as new to create a custom insight.

With the Actions headline insight, you can analyze the total number of interactions and tasks with constituents
Tip: To narrow the focus of Actions to only actions that meet specific criteria, apply an attribute filter to the fact or insight. For more information, see Attribute Filters.

To identify the channel used for an interaction — such as Email or Phone call — or the intent of an action, you track its category.
-
To compare how many actions of each category you have in total, use the Actions by category insight.
-
To track trends in use of each action category, use the Actions by category over time insight.

With this information, you can identify which channels fundraiser"s prefer and whyfundraisers use actions. To cultivate relationships and emotional connections with

With the Actions by fundraiser insight, you can compare how many actions of each category each fundraiser
Tip: For focused analysis, choose which fundraisers to analyze with the Fundraiser name filter. To view how many actions of each category aren't assigned to afundraiser, select None found in the filter.
To assign an action to someone else, such as to increase its coverage or adjust workloads, edit the action and choose a different fundraiser. For more information, see Actions.

To help track the completion of tasks and interactions, fundraisers update an action's status to indicate its progress and when it's done. By default, Raiser's Edge NXT tracks the status — Open, Completed, or Past due — based on the action's dates and completion. Your organization can also set up custom status codes to better track actions as they progress through your workflow.
-
To compare how many actions are open, marked as complete, or past their due dates, use the Actions by status insight.
-
To compare where actions are in your organization's workflow, use the Actions by status code insight.
For more information, see Action Statuses.

To help describe actions, your organization can configure additional types based on action categories. For example, for a category of Mailing, you may set up types of Birthday and Inquiry. With the Actions by type insight, you can compare how many actions of each type you have in total. With this information, you can identify which types of actions your fundraiser use most and which to use more of (or remove altogether).
Tip: If a type isn't used, consider whether to promote its use for future actions, or remove it as an option altogether. Your organization can manage the available types in the database view. For more information, see Action Categories and Types.

To help ensure actions are completed, you can assign the task or interaction to a fundraiser. To identify the channel used for an interaction — such as Email or Phone call — or the intent of an action, you track its category. Your organization can also set up custom status codes to better track actions as they progress through your workflow. With these insights, you can analyze the categories and statuses of actions assigned to each fundraiser:
-
Fundraiser actions by category — How many actions of each category are assigned to each fundraiser
-
Fundraiser actions by status code — How many actions of each category are assigned to fundraisers, by their current status
With this information, you can easily identify which fundraisers juggle too many actions and ensure balanced assignments.
