Payment Configuration Troubleshooting

To process payments in Raiser's Edge NXT, your organization must have a Blackbaud Payment Service account and at least one payment configuration. A payment configuration includes information about the gateway, access credentials, fraud protection options, currencies, and credit card types that your processor supports.

Payment Configuration Tips

Payment configurations are required. They define how transactions are processed, including gateway settings, credentials, and supported payment methods. Without a payment configuration, you can’t complete payment processing for gifts, forms, or registrations. If payment configurations don't display, ask your admin to review and update settings.

The following list highlights key areas where you can set configuration.

Verify a payment configuration exists

After you confirm Blackbaud Payment Service credentials are correct, verify at least one payment configuration exists:

  • If you process transactions through Blackbaud Merchant Services, verify your configurations through the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal. From Control panel, Settings, verify details under Account configurations. For more information, see Account Configurations in the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal Help.

  • If you process transactions through another payment gateway, verify your configurations in the database view. From Configuration, Business rules, Merchant accounts, ensure there is at least one payment configuration record and verify its details.

Verify currency and country settings

You must have at least one payment configuration that matches your organization’s country and currency. In the database view:

  • Verify your organization's country under Configuration, General.

  • Verify your organization's currency under Configuration, International.

If you process transactions through Blackbaud Merchant Services, verify the country and currency settings for a payment gateway through the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal. From Control panel, select Settings. For more information, see the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal Help.

If you process transactions through another payment gateway, verify the country and currency settings for a payment gateway in the database view under Configuration, Business Rules, Merchant Accounts.
