Opportunity Summary
At the top of an opportunity's record, the summary provides pertinent details about the effort, including its name, constituent, purpose, and status.
At the top of the record, the name of the opportunity appears as it does throughout the program, such as in lists or on its constituent's record. We recommend you use a name that easily identifies the opportunity.
The Constituent field displays who the opportunity works to cultivate a relationship with and solicit a gift from. For detailed information about the constituent, select their name to open their record.
The Purpose field displays the intent of any money received as a result of the opportunity.
Tip: Set up and manage the available purposes from Purposes in Tables. For more information, see Tables.
The Deadline field displays the goal date for when the opportunity results in a gift.
In the Status field, you can view where the opportunity is in your solicitation process. For more information, see Opportunity Status.
To help cultivate relationships with a prospect or major gift donor, you can pin a note to the top of the opportunity record that provides a high level overview or additional details about the plan. With this summary, you can have a general understanding of the opportunity at a glance, such as to prepare for an interaction. For details, see Summary Notes.
Note: Proposal notes from the database view do not appear on opportunity records in the web view.
To update the opportunity's summary, select Edit opportunity, adjust the details under Basic information, and select Save.
