Add Gift Subtype to Donation Forms

Use gift subtypes on donation forms to classify gifts for tracking and reporting after they’re received. If you add a gift subtype to a donation form, the value is automatically written to the gift record and reduced manual entry when approving the gifts in a batch.

The gift subtype can be used to define a GL Distribution. The GL Distribution is the financial account numbers associated with the gift type and subtype on a gift record.

To add a gift subtype to a donation form:

  1. From Online Giving, Donation forms, select a form to edit or create a new one.

  2. From Hidden fields, select a gift subtype.

  3. Continue to edit the form and save it.

Tip: To manage Gift Subtypes, from Settings, select Tables, where you define and maintain table entries.
