Test and Go Live with Online Giving Forms

After you configure and save an Online Giving form, test it before you make it live. Testing lets you review the form experience, catch issues, and confirm the form behaves as expected — without creating real records or processing live transactions.

All Online Giving forms start in test mode by default. How you go live depends on the form type:

  • Donation forms and membership forms use Transaction processing on the Payments and fees tab. When you're ready to accept real donations or memberships, select Start processing donations.

  • Constituent forms use Form mode on the Get started tab. When you're ready to accept submissions, select Live mode.

Note: After you go live, you can't return a form to test mode.
