Potential gift range

The Potential gift range is a projection of how much a devoted donor can give to their favorite organization over the next 12 months.

The Potential gift range is not necessarily the size of gift the prospect will give to your organization, because it does not incorporate information related to giving to your organization. However, it does give a sense of the prospect's potential if they are effectively engaged with your organization.

The main factors used to define the Potential gift range are:

  • Giving to other organizations

  • Wealth data

  • Socioeconomic data

Additional factors are considered to improve the projection's accuracy.

The Potential gift range may be different than the Target gift range if:

  • The prospect has a limited giving history with your organization

  • The prospect's assets are held by another entity, but they have given large amounts to your organization in the past
