Prospect Insights Pro FAQs

When a candidate in the Top prospects list meets your organization’s requirements for major giving cultivation, you can select Mark as qualified and then assign them to a fundraiser. This action pulls a candidate into Prospect Insights Pro as a prospect; fundraisers can then manage them in their portfolio, monitor actions and opportunities, and track changes to their giving behavior. Guidelines and processes for qualification vary by organization but will likely include using data from Prospect Insights Pro and other research about the candidate’s relationship with your organization.

Prospect Insights Pro considers factors besides wealth to determine a constituent’s major giving likelihood and target gift range, including the amount, frequency, and recency of gifts to your organization and others. In addition to capacity, the constituent must demonstrate a high willingness to give to your organization to be identified as a candidate in Prospect Insights Pro.

Any constituent who:

• Is an organization.

• Is marked deceased.

• Is under 18 years old.

• Has a primary zip or postal code outside the United States.

• Has an invalid or missing zip code.

• Doesn't match information from Blackbaud's proprietary data sources.

Yes, there is. The qualification status appears on the constituent's record under Prospect Insights.

We recommend that you create a new custom field such as "Identified by Prospect Insights Pro" (yes/no) and apply to it actions and opportunities created in Prospect Insights Pro.

Not currently. You can view Prospect Insights Pro data for any prospect record permitted by your portfolio permissions, even those with Record Security applied. We understand that privacy and discretion is an important aspect of fundraising, and your organization's privacy policy for staff using the fundraising database and fundraising tools should reflect the use of Prospect Insights Pro.

Major giving likelihood, Target gift range, and projected giving and wealth information are updated quarterly in Prospect Insights. Top prospects and Needs attention lists update nightly. We recommend that your fundraising team sets a cadence to frequently review prospect lists.

Having a lot of top prospects is a good problem to have and shows your major giving program has lots of potential. Remember that your highest rated candidates appear at the top of the list, so we suggest that you begin your review process at the top and systematically work your way down, assigning or dismissing candidates as needed.

Prospect Insights Pro is currently only available to US-based organizations.
