Add Designations to a Standard Donation Form

Designations direct gifts to the correct area of financial need. You can include one or more designations on a Standard Donation Form, allow donors to split a gift across multiple designations, and control how designations appear to donors.

Add Designations

  1. From Online Giving, Donation forms, select a Standard Form to edit or create a new one.

  2. From Get started, under Designations, select one or more designations to include on the form.

    • If the form has one designation, it doesn't appear to donors.

    • If the form has more than one designation, donors can select the one they want to support.

Tip: To allow donors to split a gift across multiple designations, select Enable donors to split gifts between designations.

  1. Continue to edit the form and save it.

Change Designation Labels and Order

If you include more than one designation, you can change the labels and the order they appear to donors on the form.

  1. From Online Giving, Donation forms, select a Standard Form to edit or create a new one.

  2. From Form, hover over the designation field and select Click to edit.

  3. Under Labels, you can change the:

    • Designation label that appears as the field label where donors select the area to support.

    • Designation placeholder text that appears within the designation field.

  4. Under Designations list:

    • Labels: select Use default names or Set labels to change what appears to donors.

    • Sort order: select A to Z or Set order to arrange designations in a different order for donors.

  5. Select Done and continue to configure the form or save it.
