Social Sharing on Donation Forms

To raise awareness about your mission, you can enable social sharing on your donation forms and allow donors to share their support with others.

How donors can share

After making their donation, a donor can quickly share the form with Facebook and WhatsApp. To share with other platforms, such as LinkedIn, donors can select Copy link and paste it in their message.

If a donor's device or browser supports native sharing, they may see More share options. By selecting this option donors can share the form quickly and directly via text messages, AirDrop (for Apple devices), or email without copying the link.

The social sharing options will appear to donors after the donation is processed as long as:

  • an Optimized Donation Form opens from a hyperlink or button using the Optimized Loader Script on your website for the social sharing options to appear.

  • a Standard Donation Form is embedded on your website.

Enable social sharing on your donation forms

  1. From Online Giving, Overview, create or edit a donation form.

    Tip: If you need more help configuring a new donation form, review Standard Donation Forms and Optimized Donation Forms.

  2. From Confirmations, select Use default content under Thank you message.

  3. Under Social sharing, select Display social sharing options.

  4. If necessary, continue configuring the form and save it.

  5. Now, you are ready to test the form.

    Note: To test social sharing, you must embed Standard Forms on your website. For Optimized Forms, you must embed the loader script on your website and open the form from a hyperlink or button.
