Online Giving Security

In Security, roles determine a user’s level of access to an area in Online Giving. Before you create your own roles, consider which users need access to an area and what level of access they need. You can assign more than one role to a user.

Note: If you are the organization admin, to get you started there are built-in roles you can assign to yourself and other users.

Users who are solution admins have access to all of Online Giving.

  1. From Security, select User management.

  2. Select Add user.

    Tip: If the user already has an account, you can send their invitation and apply their roles.

  3. Enter their name and email address.

  4. Under Security, select Blackbaud apps.

  5. Select Make solution admin, under Blackbaud apps feature security roles.

  6. Send invite or Save.

To view and further manage areas of Online Giving, you will assign users their appropriate roles.

  1. From Security, select User management.

  2. Select Add user.

  3. Enter their name and email address.

  4. Under Security, select Blackbaud apps. To enable the user to:

    • View and edit gifts, but also view designations and appeals, select Manage Contributions.

    • Only view gifts, select View Contributions.

      Note: Only Blackbaud CRM and Altru users have the option to view contributions in Online Giving. Raiser's Edge NXT users will manage gifts in Raiser's Edge NXT's web view.

    • View, edit, and delete donation forms, select Manage Donation forms.

      Tip: To only view donation forms and their performance, create a new role with the donation forms view permission.

    • Make updates to settings, select Manage Settings.

    • Add and edit users and security roles, select Manage Users.

  5. Send invite.
