Apple Pay Setup
For supporters to use Apple Pay when donating through forms that are embedded or launched from links and buttons on your organization's website, you must verify the domain with Apple.
Tip: Forms that launch from their Blackbaud-hosted URL are already verified and display Apple Pay automatically.
-
Download and unzip the Standard Form Apple Pay verification file.
Note: This file is different from the Optimized Form verification file.
-
Place the file at the following path on your domain: [DOMAIN]/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association
Tip: If you embed your form in Blackbaud School Website System or Blackbaud NetCommunity, you can skip this step — the file is already in place.
For assistance, reach out to the resources you'd normally engage for help with your website.
-
Embed the donation form code snippet into your webpage.
-
For existing forms already embedded, copy the code snippet and re-embed it.
-
-
Complete a credit card payment through your form. For Standard Forms, Apple Pay displays 24 to 48 hours after the form processes its first payment.
-
Wait 24 to 48 hours, then visit your form from a compatible Apple device and confirm that Apple Pay appears during checkout.
-
Repeat for all domains (such as myorganization.org) and subdomains (such as donate.myorganization.org) where Apple Pay should appear on an embedded Standard Form.
For Optimized Forms, you verify domains from the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal. For more information, see Payment Domains in Blackbaud Merchant Services Help.
Note: Apple Pay isn't supported for Optimized Forms launched from hyperlinks or buttons on School Website System or Blackbaud Website Package sites. For Blackbaud NetCommunity, Apple Pay is only supported for sites hosted on your organization’s domain.
