Batch Distribution Rules
Distributed batch rules help you manage which Blackbaud CRM batch receives a gift from Optimized and Standard Donation Forms. To determine which batch receives a gift, create distribution rules from Settings, Batch distribution rules. You can base a rule on donation forms, an appeal, designations, or cards and wallets. When you create multiple rules a gift appears in the batch of the first rule it matches. To move a rule to the first position, select Top for the rule. Otherwise, you can drag a rule to another position with the reorder button.

To create a distribution rule,
-
From Settings, select Batch distribution rules.
-
Select New rule.
-
Enter a descriptive name for the rule under Rule name.
-
For Rule type, Designations is the default selection. However, you can select Show all and choose to base the rule on an appeal, cards and wallets, or donation forms.
-
After choosing the rule type, select the criteria the gift must meet.
-
Next, choose the batch template for the gifts.
-
Select Save.

When necessary, you can edit or delete rules. From Settings, Batch distribution rules, select the rule's ellipsis menu.
-
Select Edit to make changes to the rule and save it.
-
Select Delete to delete a rule you no longer need.
Note: You can't delete Default, but you can edit it and change the batch template it uses.

You should periodically review the batch distribution rules for errors. A rule stops being used if:
-
The batch template is no longer available.
-
All the designations, donation forms, cards and wallets, or appeal for the rule are no longer available.
Note: For a rule with more than one criteria, such as multiple designations or donation forms, as long as one of those criteria are available the rule will continue to be used.
Edit the rules to remove criteria that's no longer available. If necessary, you can select new criteria.
