Make reviews anonymous
For certain awards, you may want to ensure impartial reviews.
What happens when you make something anonymous?
When you make an opportunity (or your entire system) anonymous, your system shows reviewers a system-generated ID number instead of an applicant's name.
For example, Jane Smith might become Application #103.
Tip: To make sure reviewers don't accidentally see personal information from another source, see Other considerations for anonymous reviews.
Make individual opportunities anonymous
Any admin can remove personally identifiable information from an individual opportunity or application:
-
Go to the Details tab of your opportunity.
-
Make sure Hide Applicant Name From Reviewers? is selected.
-
Select Update Opportunity.
Note: If you've set up anonymous reviews on all opportunities, you won't see this option on individual opportunities.
Make all opportunities anonymous
If desired, system admins can hide applicant names across all reviews:
-
Select Site, Settings, Content.
-
Make sure Hide Applicant Name From Reviewers? is selected.
-
Select Update Settings.
Note: System admins can toggle this feature on or off as needed.
Other considerations for anonymous reviews
If you truly want reviewers to complete anonymous reviews, make sure you audit each opportunity for identifying information:
-
Evaluate General Application questions: On Opportunity, General Application, Questions, make sure all applicant and administrator questions and applicant import data are not marked as Reviewable
-
Be careful with applicant submissions: If your applicants write an essay or upload transcripts, these materials may reveal identifying details
