Checkout Overview

Blackbaud offers secure, mobile-responsive payment forms used to process transactions through both donor-facing online forms and organization-facing back office forms. Whether your organization is collecting donations, selling tickets, or managing fees, these forms help ensure payments are processed reliably and in compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards.

Both versions support a variety of payment methods — including digital wallets — as well as fee coverage options and A/B testing to help optimize the payer experience and reduce costs.

Blackbaud Checkout

Blackbaud Checkout is the original checkout experience used across many Blackbaud solutions. It supports a consistent experience for both online and back office transactions, meets PCI requirements, and is mobile responsive. Maintenance windows are sometimes required to release new features and updates, which can result in temporary downtime.

New checkout

New checkout is Blackbaud’s modern payment experience. Like Blackbaud Checkout, it meets PCI requirements and is mobile responsive. It offers a streamlined interface and supports a wider variety of payment methods — such as Google Pay — with recurring support for most options. New checkout requires no downtime during releases and is being increasingly adopted across more Blackbaud solutions.

Tip: Forms and solutions using new checkout use industry best practice settings for AVS levels, CSC levels, and card type settings.

Support by solution

Note: New checkout is only available for payments processed through Blackbaud Merchant Services. Forms that use third-party gateways automatically use Blackbaud Checkout.
