Donor Cover Overview

Donor cover is a fee coverage model that gives donors the option to cover processing fees for eligible transactions. When a donor covers fees, 100% of their payment goes directly to your organization. The full amount is tax-deductible.

Donor cover is currently supported in:

• Blackbaud Altru (through Blackbaud Donation Forms) — On Standard Forms and Optimized Forms

• Blackbaud CRM (through Blackbaud Donation Forms) — On Standard Forms and Optimized Forms

• Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT — On registration forms, Standard Donation Forms, and Optimized Donation Forms

• Blackbaud Luminate Online and TeamRaiser — On donation forms, TeamRaiser registration and donation forms, calender events, and personal fundraising forms

• Blackbaud eTapestry — On DIY forms and eCart

Note: Donor cover is also available for new recurring direct debits.

Donor cover rates

When a donor chooses to cover processing fees, the following flat rates apply for credit card transactions:

• USD: 3.5% + $0.30 (ACH/Direct Debit: 1% + $0.30 (max. $5) per transaction)

• CAD: 3.5% + $0.30 (ACSS/Direct Debit: 1% + $0.30 (max. $5) per transaction)

• AUD: 2.1% + $0.26

• NZD: 2.0% + $0.26

• GBP: 3.50% + £0.20

• Euro: 3.50% + €0.20

During checkout, the form automatically calculates the fee and adds it to the gift amount.
