After you run the R68 report and receive a Gift Aid tax claim from Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC), you may need to refund the tax claim due to a change made to the database. The program may automatically generate a refund, such as for a new or edited constituent declaration that may affect the Gift Aid eligibility of a revenue transaction, or the correction of a data entry error, such as the payment amount or whether the constituent declines Gift Aid. You may need to manually add a refund, such as for a new or edited Gift Aid disqualification rule. To view the refunds associated with a payment application, select the Gift Aid Refunds tab. From this tab, you can also add and edit tax claim refunds for the application.
For more information about refunds and the R68 process, refer to Refunds in R68 Process.
After you include the application in an R68 report, the Gift Aid Refunds grid is enabled. In this grid, you can view the refunds associated with the application. For each refund, you can view its original and refund tax claim number, the original tax claim amount, the refund date and source, and the reason for the refund.
To access the record of the payment associated with the application, such as to view additional information, click the Refund date under Gift Aid Refunds.
From the grid, you can add and edit the tax claim refunds of the application as necessary.
