Participate in a VolunteerMatch Opportunity

Your employees can participate in external volunteer opportunities through the VolunteerMatch integration.

On Search Opportunities, a VolunteerMatch logo shows whether an opportunity is from VolunteerMatch. You can use a filter to search for VolunteerMatch opportunities.

Express Interest in a VolunteerMatch Opportunity

When you find a VolunteerMatch opportunity you would like to participate in:

  1. Select Express Interest from the opportunity page.

  2. Under Contact Email Address, you can change the email address shared with the organization. This field defaults to the employee's HR file email address.

  3. Under Tell the organization why you want to participate, share why you are interested in this opportunity and any applicable qualifications. CSRconnect sends this message to the nonprofit.

  4. Complete any other required fields.

  5. Review the terms of use and select I have read and agree to VolunteerMatch terms of use if you agree to them.

  6. Select Submit. Your interest and your information is then shared with the nonprofit via the VolunteerMatch nonprofit portal.

Record VolunteerMatch Participation

Your VolunteerMatch opportunities appear in My Volunteering, VolunteerMatch.

VolunteerMatch projects are listed with 0 entries and 0 hours. Add your participation over time as it is confirmed with the nonprofit through external communication.

  1. Select Add Participation.

  2. In Participation Date, enter the date you participated with the project.

  3. In Hours Volunteered, enter the number of hours you participated.

  4. Select Add Entry.

  5. Select Continue.

  6. Answer any applied custom questions.

  7. Agree to the disclaimer, if applicable.

  8. If Volunteer Time Off (VTO) is enabled for your community, and your participation is eligible for a program, you can apply those hours to VTO. To apply the hours, select Apply Now and complete any applicable fields.

  9. If Volunteer Grants or Incentives are enabled for your community, and your participation is eligible for a program, you can choose to include the applicable program. To include the program, select Apply Now and complete any applicable fields.

  10. Select Save.
