Get Started with Fundraising

The Peer to Peer Fundraising feature lets employees create fundraisers for charitable organizations and donate to fundraisers created by their community.

Configure your community's peer to peer fundraising program with these settings.

YourCause-Managed Settings

Work with your Customer Success Manager to configure these settings:

  • Set a custom list of fundraiser-eligible charities.

Note: Most global processing partners do not support all available donation types for peer to peer fundraisers. Global processing partners lists supported fundraising donation types by processor. Work with your Customer Success Manager to decide which processors should be included in your fundraiser-eligible charity list.

  • Determine whether to enable Fundraiser Approval.

  • Enable Peer to Peer Fundraising Data Source for Ad Hoc Reporting (Tableau).

Configure Main Fundraising Settings

Use Fundraiser Settings to customize Explore Fundraisers and the text displayed in your fundraising community:

  • Customize the text that appears on your community's Fundraiser pages and in the Create a Fundraiser flow.

    • Internal Donor Disclaimer text: Up to 5,000 characters

    • External Donor Disclaimer text: Up to 250 characters

    • External Donor Custom Welcome text: Up to 250 characters

  • Upload a Fundraising Community background image (1280 x 700 pixels recommended).

  • Upload a Fundraising Badge (130 x 130 pixels recommended).

  • Enter a Fundraising Community Name and Fundraising Community Description.

  • Set a Featured Fundraiser.

Social Sharing and External Fundraisers

Enable social sharing for your community from Fundraiser Settings to let users share fundraisers outside of your organization. External fundraisers may also be referred to as public fundraisers.

Your employees can share fundraisers externally by using the Share This Page link or by posting to select social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter). If social sharing is not active, users can only share direct links with other members of their CSRconnect community.

Note: External fundraiser donations always include fees. There is no fee coverage option for external fundraiser donations.

Warning: The only third-party global processor that supports external fundraiser donations is Charities Trust.

Approve Fundraisers and Set Match Eligibility

Your community can require admin approval of Peer to Peer Fundraisers. This feature must be turned on by your Customer Success Manager.

After employees create fundraisers in the CSRconnect community, admins can approve or decline those fundraisers from the Fundraisers Manager in the CSRconnect Admin Portal.

You can also turn off match eligibility for individual fundraisers from the Fundraisers Manager. This excludes the fundraiser from employees' match caps.

Note: Fundraisers are match eligible by default.

Manage Fundraiser Communications

Use Fundraiser Communication Settings to configure the messages your employees receive during the fundraiser approval process and set default approved or declined messages to fundraiser creators.
