Reporting
As a manager, access Reporting from multiple capabilities and solutions.
SKY lists
Manage groups of records that share characteristics, such as to analyze students, contracts, conduct infractions, and more.
As you work with lists, fine-tune criteria to view only specific records and information.
Some lists are only accessible to users with specific security roles.
All lists are dynamic; when you Save your criteria and view setting, the list result shows current results.
Export them for use in 3rd party spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel.
You'll find these under Reporting, Manage Lists and through throughout multiple capabilities and solutions.
Basic lists (legacy)
Basic lists enable you to directly query your database using topic templates, which include pre-defined filter criteria and output options.
Access these from Reporting, Manage Lists , Manage basic and advanced lists.
Tip: As SKY lists are continually expanded, you'll probably use the legacy ones less often.
Advanced lists (legacy)
A platform manager or list manager (users with the Manage List Category task) can create specific, customized queries without the constraints of basic lists.
Since advanced lists are ad hoc queries, each object in an advanced list corresponds to a table and data in your database.
You can join objects together to create lists of data from multiple tables of data. You can also choose how to filter the data and which data to show in the output.
Users who already understand SQL can enter corresponding statements and troubleshoot them easier than users who are less familiar with SQL.
Access these from Reporting, Manage Lists , Manage basic and advanced lists.
Tip: As SKY lists are continually expanded, you'll probably use the legacy ones less often.
Analysis (SKY Reporting)
Assess your school's overall performance and effectiveness via customizable graphs and charts.
On October 5, 2021, dashboards for Analysis (SKY reporting) will no longer appear inside Core, Academics, etc.
Instead, select Analysis, from the solutions menu (that you'd use to access Core, Academics, etc.) in the top left corner.
To prepare for this change, ensure users have security group rights and roles to access the Education Area and that they log in with Blackbaud ID.
Tip: Remember that the Education Area has a gray navigation menu, whereas the “ON” app’s menu is likely in your school’s colors.
Reports (legacy)
Each solution includes reports that enable you to track many types of information. User security roles (usually managers) determines who can access various reports.
Although the reports available for each solution can't be altered, many do enable you to select filters to control which content is shown.
Download the reports as a printable PDFs.
Many reports can be exported to third party applications, such as Microsoft Word or Excel.
Access these from Reporting, Reports.
Tip: SKY reporting is continually expanded, you'll probably use the legacy reports less often. Also consider using SKY lists for reporting needs.
