Goals

You can use Impact Edge metrics to set goals for your programs and track your progress.

From Goals, you can view all goals entered for your organization. Use the filters to view all or a subset of your organization's goals, such as goals that you have marked as At Risk or On Track.

Each goal will display:

  • The goal type

  • The last status you assigned the goal

  • The target and your current progress

  • The goal description

  • Any filters applied to the goal

  • The goal's active dates

Tip: Goal status is a manually updated field. We recommend using this field to categorize your goals during a progress monitoring process.

Select the dot grid icon to drag and reorder your goals. You can also collapse and expand goals using the caret.

Add a new goal

To enter a new goal for your organization:

  1. Select Add Goal.

  2. Select a goal type, then select Next. The goal type is the metric you would like to track, such as number of grant applications or number of volunteers.

  3. Enter a Description.

  4. Enter a Metric Target. The field label will describe the number format for that goal type. For example, the Award Percentage % goal type will say Metric Target (Percent).

  5. Under Filters, you can select filters to limit the scope of your goal.

    • Date Range is a required filter.

Warning: You can backdate a goal up to one year in the past. Goal end dates cannot be older than the goal start date.

    • Depending on the goal type, you can optionally use other filters such as Charity Country or Employee Department.

  6. Select Save.

Edit a goal

To edit a goal, select the gear.

From Edit Goal, you can update the Description, Status, and Metric Target. You can also delete the goal.

You cannot edit a goal's Metric Type, Start Date, End Date, or Filters.

Warning: If you change a goal's status to Completed, the goal will no longer be editable.
