True Impact Overview

If you are a True Impact customer, you can use the True Impact Overview dashboard to view your True Impact data in Impact Edge. We partner with True Impact to provide meaningful insights into the efficiency and impact of the charitable organizations you support.

True Impact Overview filters include:

  • Investment Year: The year you made your investments

  • Portfolio: Your True Impact portfolios

  • Report Stage: Program progress as reported by the charity

Key Performance Indicators

You can view summary data for five Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Total investment: The total amount your organization gave

  • People reached: The estimated number of people your programs reached

  • Claimed impact: How many units of impact your investment supported. See Claimed social impacts section for more detail.

  • Funded Programs: The number of charity programs your organization contributed to

  • Funded Organizations: The number of charitable organizations you contributed to

Investment Details

View details about your investment in specific programs. For each program, you can view:

  • Program name: The name of the program

  • Organization: The charity that created this program

  • Stage: The program progress as reported by the charity

  • Funding Tier: How much of the program’s funding you contributed

    • Incremental: A non-primary contribution to the program’s overall funding

    • Significant: One of the largest contributions to the program’s overall funding

    • Foundational: A contribution without which the program may not have been viable, or a contribution that brought in other investors

  • Investment: Amount invested in this program

  • Total Report Budget: The total budget for this charity’s impact report

Claimed social impacts

View your organization’s impact by outcome. For each outcome, you can view how many programs you supported towards this outcome and how many units of impact your investment supported.

For example, if you donate to four charities that have programs to help people graduate high school, True Impact uses your investment amount and each program’s Social Return on Investment to calculate how many people you helped graduate from high school.

People Reached by Demographics

View your organization’s impact broken out by the demographic categories your charities have associated with their programs.

Tip: True Impact’s beneficiary demographic categories are based on the Populations in the Candid Philanthropy Classification System.
