Fee Coverage

Fee coverage helps you reduce processing costs and maximize donations. You can enable one of the following options on your donation and event registration forms.

Donor Cover

Donor Cover allows donors to pay the processing fee for eligible transactions, so 100% of their gift goes to your organization. The system calculates the fee automatically and adds it to the donation amount. The full amount is tax-deductible.

Complete Cover

With Complete Cover™, Blackbaud pays the processing fees for eligible transactions up to $3,000. In return, donors are asked to contribute toward Blackbaud’s service, eliminating your processing costs. For transactions of $3,000 or more, the form automatically switches to Donor Cover.

Cover Plus (Coming in 2026)

Cover Plus will allow your organization to set a custom ask amount for fee coverage.

Note: On Complete Cover forms, ineligible transactions automatically switch to Donor Cover to help offset fees.

Default Setting

Fee coverage is enabled per form or event. To pay all fees yourself and hide donor options, keep the default setting of My organization pays. For details, see Blackbaud Merchant Services Processing Fees.
