Privacy Preferences

View constituent privacy preferences on the Data Privacy tab in the Constituent record.

• Universal opt-out: Luminate Online automatically detects and records the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. This is an automated signal enabled by constituents on their browsers indicating a desire to opt-out of data sharing, selling, and similar personal data uses.

  Note: This preference cannot be edited by administrators.

• Opt out of Targeted Ads: Select this option if the constituent does not want their personal data used to personalize ads shown to them.

• Opt out of Sale of Personal Data: Select this option if the constituent does not want their personal data sold to third parties.

• Opt out of Profiling: Select this option if the constituent does not want their data used to determine eligibility for opportunities affecting finances such as scholarships or employment.

Select an Opt-out

To set Targeted ad, sale of data, or profiling opt-outs:

1. Select the Edit Preferences under the Privacy Preferences header.
   

2. Select the appropriate opt-out type and Save.
   

Note: The Global Privacy Control setting cannot be changed by administrators.

Custom Opt-outs

You can create PageBuilder pages and surveys to collect opt-out preferences. The responses can be tracked in custom fields.
