The Premium Selector Data Element

The Premium Selector element displays premiums to your donors. A premium is a unique product offered as a free gift when the total gift or purchase amount reaches a specific level. For help on how to create a premium, see Create Premiums.

You must add this data element if you offer premiums for any giving level on your form. You can place the element immediately after the giving level section on the form to allow donors to easily check premiums associated with each level. Alternatively, you can place the premium selector on a separate page of the form. If your premiums require shipping, add the shipping address fields to your form.

When you edit the Premium Selector, you can decide whether to display your premiums in a drop-down list or radio button format. You can also craft several informational messages, including the donor option to forgo the premium -- increasing the value of their contribution to your organization.

Although you cannot associate premiums with donor-entered levels, a donor who enters an amount equal to or greater than a fixed level is eligible for premiums associated with that level. Step #9 in the configuration flow allows you to modify the message that informs the donor of this option.

The Premium Selector element is automatically present on one template, Donation Form with premium Selector. You can add it to any form based on a different template by using the Form Designer. Be sure to add this element to any form where you plan to offer premiums.
